Admissions Process for Incoming Freshmen

  1. Meet with the Director of Admissions to discuss enrollment.

    • The Admissions Director will meet with all California Lutheran Association 8th graders in their respective grade schools. Talk to your grade school principal to find out when he will be visiting.

    • Students and parents of students from schools outside the California Lutheran Association should contact CLHS (951-678-7000 x223) to set up a time to meet with the Admissions Director and/or other CLHS representatives.

  2. Complete and submit the Application for Admission.

  3. Apply for scholarships by submitting information to the TADS program.

    • A link is provided within the Admissions application.

    • Scholarships are awarded based on financial need.

  4. Select a course of study for freshman year.

    • Course selection will be done with the Admissions Director during his visits to each of the association grade schools. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend this meeting.

    • Students and parents of students from schools outside the association should contact CLHS (951-678-7000 x223) to set up a time to meet with the Admissions Director and/or other CLHS representatives in order to make preliminary course selections for freshman year.

  5. Take the math placement test.

    • The general math placement test will be offered to all California Lutheran Association grade school students in May.

    • Students and parents of students from schools outside the association should contact CLHS (951-678-7000 x223) to set up a time to meet with the Admissions Director and/or other CLHS representatives in order to take the general math placement test.

    • Any student who wishes to test out of Algebra 1 will be required to take the Algebra 1 final exam. Association students may do so in their respective grade schools. Non-federation students should take the exam at California Lutheran.

    • The ACT Aspire Test and other standardized tests taken in grade school will be used to help guide the selection of appropriate high school courses. These test scores must be submitted by the student’s previous school.  

  6. All applicants will receive notification of their acceptance via email.

    • There will be a link leading you to the enrollment process within the acceptance email. The non-refundable enrollment fee can be paid for online or in the office with cash or check.

    • This Enrollment step should be completed as soon as possible to ensure accurate scheduling.

  7. All registration materials will be mailed in early July.

  8. Orientation/Registration for all students will be held on the Sunday prior to school beginning in August. Please plan to attend to complete all the necessary steps for enrollment.
